$1500 for an E34 525i. It's an auto unfortunately, but the car only has 72k on it. Someone in NY please go check this out.

Seems like it has been looked after and well documented. NP to me.

NP all day. Extremely clean body and well documented service history, not to mention relatively low miles. Good candidate for manual swap too!

Exactly what I was thinking! Especially with how cheap it is

Whats the cost of a well done manual swap, btw? More than $1500? I always find it odd to pay more to get the car fixed than to buy it unless you have real plans for the car... Long term own, race spec it...?

CP, wrongs transmission...

That is all that really matters to me!

But it's so cheap! Easily swapped to a MT.

I believe it wildly varies depending on where you source the parts from. Depending on your junk yard-fu, you could sell your old parts and actually come out ahead. I think for old BMWs like this you'd need the transmission, pedal assembly, clutch/clutch cylinders, and possibly an ECU and diff. Of course that all is contingent on your mechanical ability when it comes swapping out the parts.

I'd have to see the price for the full conversion, leery myself.

The good news is, if you did it: Good excuse to rebuild the engine and tranny while your at it. But the gears you want, lighter pistons or whatever else you will want to do soon.

Most of these older cars have plugs for where the third pedal would have gone, correct? Should make cutting holes not needed?

Dent, bullet hole, or reflection?

Regardless, this seems like a helluva deal if the car is that clean.

Doing a swap is gonna be around 15 hours of work, and at least $500 in parts.

If I did the swap, I'd go FI. The M20 can handle 8psi of boost completely stock.

For me it's a CP. Knowing you bought it from an enthusiast and it has low miles is definitely nice, but for a few grand more you could get a 540 with a 6MT, I'd rather spend the extra money to get exactly what I want instead of buying something and having to build it. But if you're looking for a car that you plan on doing some serious customization to anyway then I would say this is NP.

NP all day. I just purchased a '92 525it with 98K and it is no where near as clean as this. That car I thought was a steal at 2k.

Can't be a reflection, unless there's a wormhole opening up over there...

It would be awesome if this was a wagon. I'm really tempted to buy this as a beater.. It's just such a good deal!

The wagons are don't come up for sale that often though. I can't believe this hasn't sold yet, I am seriously considering purchasing it. I'll sell the one I just bought and drive this one, it in so much better shape.

Do it, seriously you can make money off of this. Sell your wagon for $2000 and buy this. Spend the $500 on mods/fixing anything that's wrong.

The one I just bought isn't a wagon unfortunately. I bought it because my dad wrecked(but completely drivable) his '90 535i 5 speed. We were going to swap the parts off the 535i to the 525i and sell the rest of the it. I was also playing with the idea of trading my e30 convertible's hardtop for an e30 project car and swapping in the m30 from the e34. This car doesn't need any work and isn't almost too good to pass up.

Well, the car just sold for $2k. I was in contact with the owner, but I couldn't make it up there until the weekend to look at the car. Someone got a hell of a deal.

Tranny swap on an E34, ~$500 in parts and maybe 15 hours of work if it's your first time and you choose to do it yourself. Want me to link a DIY thread?
